God Loves You
True love, is absolutely devoid of any personal colouring or sin. This kind of love is priceless a gift from God.
We live in a day where there is much untimely death, youths killing youths, babies giving birth to babies, untold hardship, sorrow, guilt and huge disappointments therefore, People are seeking comfort in many ways and forms for the above mentioned. Unfortunately they seek comfort where there is no comfort. Many turn to drugs, alcohol, nicotine, sex and even food to feel better or to forget their pain and sorrows for a while. Sadly, the pain or sorrows returns and often the temporary cures bring on other physical and emotional problems worse than what they were used to “cure.”
Can you imagine how many crimes were committed by people under drugs and alcohols influence? Can you imagine how many children were conceived while under the influence of some means of comfort? How many were killed or injured under their influence? How many have suffered long drawn out diseases that killed them from partaking of their favourite source of comfort by seeking to escape rather than confront their sorrows and find true solace they ended up worse then they started?
Why follow others to find comfort in places where they came out empty?
True solace or comfort can only be found in Christ… why not follow Him He is the comfort you are looking for…
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort; Who gives us comfort in all our troubles, so that we may be able to give comfort to others who are in trouble, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2Co 1:3-4
Be saved by repentance
This verse gives us a very clear explanation of how we can be saved. It is repentance that leads to salvation. Repentance means turning from sin and the lust of this world to God. This verse also shows us that it is godly sorrow that produces this repentance. Paul tells us in the same verse that the sorrow of the world produces death—that is a sorrow over wanting more of what this world can offer. But godly sorrow is a sorrow over my own sin and over my lack of what belongs to God: goodness, love, mercy, patience, salvation etc.
The first fruit of this repentance is that you will receive the forgiveness of sins as you prayerfully ask God for it and that He should be your personal Lord and saviour. When this repentance is born out of a godly sorrow, then you should make a conscious decision to put an end to your old sinful ways and begin seeking the things of God and find a good bible believing church to attend.
